About Simon Jersey

About Simon Jersey

Simon Jersey is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of uniforms to businesses in a wide variety of business sectors. Our customers range in size from one member of staff to hundreds of thousands of employees across the globe.

Our heritage

Simon Jersey was set up more than 45 years ago by Lancashire businessman Simon Moyle. Mr Moyle owned a chain of fashion stores and was approached by a local pub to create a uniform.

Mr Moyle recognised a gap in the market for a company that could create uniforms that looked good and were comfortable and practical to wear for work and Simon Jersey was born. The company soon gained an international reputation for well-designed uniforms and we moved into a purpose built headquarters in 1991.

The company has since changed ownership, but our passion for creating stylish yet practical uniforms remains the same.

After several changes of ownership, Simon Jersey was bought last year by entrepreneur David Ross. The new ownership, and new senior management team, has reinvigorated the company and our focus on delivering innovative garments and top quality customer service.

It’s this approach to innovative uniform solutions that meant we were appointed as an official supplier to Team GB for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

What we do

Our aim is to be the world’s first choice for workplace fashion.

We have more than 45 years’ experience in designing for diverse teams of all shapes and sizes, including some of the world’s best known brands. They trust us to deliver uniforms that not only look good, but are tested for durability and comfort during the working day.

Our catalogue range

For businesses looking for simplicity, we offer a range of more than 800 garments available via our website and catalogue. Our range includes pieces that can be mixed and matched to create the ideal uniform for your business, whatever your brand values.

The majority of our garments, including our full suiting range, are easy-care and machine washable with speciality fabrics the only exception. We also work to ensure that unlike the high street, most garments in our catalogue range are available for a minimum of six years.

To further personalise the chosen uniform, we can also arrange embroidery and printing in-house, contact us for details.

Bespoke design

We’re renowned for the bespoke uniform design service that we offer to major account customers. They include hoteliers, airlines, retailers, and global facilities management organisations as well as Team GB.

Simon Jersey’s reputation is built on our ability to translate brand values into uniforms, delivering innovative and stylish designs that look good on a diverse range of shapes and sizes.

We offer a fully managed service led by a dedicated account manager to drive the whole process from initial concepts through to rollout and beyond.

Our Social Responsibility

We take respect for human rights and compliance with labour laws very seriously. To ensure that we uphold high standards Simon Jersey has adopted a Code of Standards based on the ETI Base Code, and is working within the Labour Standards Assurance System to provide an extra level of corporate, social and ethical governance with regards to labour standards, along with being members of Sedex (the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange).

Simon Jersey is committed to ensure that all suppliers and subcontractors within the Supply Chain, with which Simon Jersey has a direct (contractually regulated) business relationship, shall sign our Code of Conduct Compliance Commitment, participate in our Code of Conduct Compliance Scheme and acknowledge our Labour Standards Assurance System.

Good working conditionsWe believe that the greatest reward of our efforts in the realm of CSR is to see the concrete results in the form of good working conditions for the people that we depend on and measurable reductions of negative environmental impacts. Simon Jersey embrace the notion that all corporations have a social responsibility that they must act upon but on a fundamental human level we act because we care, and because we can.

Protecting the environmentSimon Jersey is committed to reducing our impact on the environment and helping our customers to do everything they can to prolong the life of their uniforms. We are currently working towards the IS0 14001 environmental management system accreditation. We’ve taken steps such as ensuring 0% of our waste goes to landfill, reducing energy and water usage, and training all staff to ensure that we operate in a sustainable way.

Supporting good causesWe aim to support a variety of good causes, locally and globally, through donations of workwear and fundraising at company events. Read more about the good causes we have supported recently on the Simon Jersey blog.
